Mercy Futures

In preparing to mark the 125th Anniversary of the founding of the Parramatta Congregation, the Sisters chose to celebrate and honour our Mercy past by investing in the future of Mercy.

The Mercy Futures group is comprised of a diverse group of women who have been in some way touched by God’s spirit of Mercy through the Parramatta Sisters, and wish to be part of future continuation of Catherine McAuley’s Mercy vision in our world. Crossing various ages, professions and life situations, the group is inclusive and passionate about its vision.

Part of this vision includes the creation of Mercy Place, where women and men of Mercy can receive education, formation and inspiration while developing supportive networks.

This exciting project is in its infancy; it received a huge boost from the Congregation with the provision of a heritage cottage in the grounds of the current Congregation Centre in Victoria Road Parramatta, as the physical building in which Mercy Place will be established.

The Mercy Futures Group is now working on its plans for the coming 12 months in which Mercy Place moves from dream to reality.
